Itinerary
Manual wheelchair service provision requires an understanding of the current body of literature paired with clinical expertise and experience. This presentation will cover both existing and new areas of published literature to support the need for configurable and adjustable manual wheelchairs.
The RESNA position on the application of ultralight manual wheelchairs was published in August of 2023 following a scoping review of the literature and current best practice for topics such as repetitive strain injury, configuration, rolling resistance, component selection, wheelchair skills, and durability. Following a detailed review of this new body of evidence, clinical applications will be discussed to demonstrate functional wheeled mobility outcomes when the person is individually matched with manual wheelchair solutions.

Jennith is a Physical Therapist specializing in seating and wheeled mobility. She worked for 10 years at a model SCI center (Shepherd Center) in Atlanta, Georgia. Jennith completed a master's in physical therapy at North Georgia College & State University and transitional DPT at University of Texas Medical Branch. Jennith has served as a volunteer teacher at the Universidad Mariano Galvez in Guatemala, instructing spinal cord injury curriculum as well as seating and mobility. Jennith has presented at national and international conferences such as RESNA, ISS, LASS, Expo Ortopedica, and the APT
